This beautifully illustrated advertisement hails from 1940 and juxtaposes Rhett carrying Scarlett up the stairs against the duo's earlier escape out of Atlanta. In fact, one could say that here Rhett is merely attempting to save Scarlett from two of her greatest threats: Yankees and her fixation on Ashley Wilkes.

Alright, after some technical difficulties with Blogger, we're back in action with a now somewhat belated poster of the week. We think this highly unusual German poster looks like a guy's version of GWTW--war plus Scarlett in a red dress. What do you think?

"The greatest motion picture ever made!" proclaims this 11x17 poster (circa 1940s-50s), which depicts Rhett and Scarlett's escape from Atlanta and, as is de rigueur in so much GWTW poster art, a swooning Scarlett in Rhett's arms.

What can we say? Between Rhett going shirtless, Scarlett ditching her custom red wrapper for a green one (Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!) and the useful circle in the right corner informing us that this is not suitable viewing material for children, this Australian poster,  date unknown, kind of speaks for itself, doesn't it? And if ever the adult industry decides to attach itself to Gone with the Wind, they don't need to look far for a poster either...
