"'It's your bonnet,' he said. 'Who else could wear that shade of green? Don't you think I carried the color of your eyes well in my mind?'
'Did you really have it trimmed just for me?'
'Yes, and there's 'Rue de la Paix' on the box, if that means anything to you.'
It meant nothing to her, smiling at her reflection in the mirror. Just at this moment, nothing mattered to her except that she looked utterly charming in the first pretty hat she had put on her head in two years."

To go along with our scrapbook theme, each week we'll be posting a fun GWTW-themed collage from the endlessly addictive Polyvore website. It's like our very own boutique on Rue de la Paix.

Enjoy!
Fun! I'd be interested in a post sometime about the history of the Rue de la Paix and what Rhett might have found there (shameless hint!).
ReplyDeleteHaha, duly noted.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing...but you already know that :) I have always obsessed over the fashions of the time. I even collect magazines from the time period! There are so neat ;)
ReplyDelete@Kelly- I'm so glad you enjoy it! I think it should be a very fun feature. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Kelly, we love you, do you have a scanner? :D JK (unless you do have one)
ReplyDeleteAnd look, my Scarlett profile pic was never more adequate :P
This is fascinating. I love the Rue de la Paix theme. When I was in Paris in 1980, I had to go to Rue de la Paix to see what it would have looked like to Rhett during his shopping excursions. I ended up buying a very Parisian-looking doll.
